The Formula 1 edit

In part 1 of discussing the furry friends of F1 drivers, we covered Alex Albon, Lewis Hamilton, and of course, Charles Leclerc. Well, those icons aren’t the only ones with adorable pets! Let’s take a look at a few more.

Esteban Ocon

The French Haas driver currently has one black cat named Iris, which he frequently takes adorable photos and videos with! At the end of 2024, coming off the high of his P2 finish in Brazil, Esteban posted a photo with Iris for Christmas with the caption “Apparently only Iris and I wake up super early on Christmas morning…Meow-ry Christmas everybody!” What a cute caption! There’s just something about a sophisticated F1 driver posting cheesy Instagram photos with his cat, it’s so heartwarming!

Oscar Piastri

The Man from Melbourne Oscar Piastri has a Shih Tzu named Basil, who fans are very aware of because he frequently makes his adorable way onto some of Oscar’s merchandise! Oscar used to have another dog named Rosie, but she unfortunately passed away. Oscar and Basil’s friendship continues to go strong!

Pierre Gasly

The second Frenchman in this article, Pierre Gasly, is famously known for having a toy poodle named Simba! Simba has the most adorable face that is truly one you wouldn’t miss if you saw him prancing through the paddock! He’s frequently seen with Pierre’s girlfriend, Kika Gomez.

Pets bring so much life and joy to people! Even F1 drivers, who stand at the top of the racing world, need their best furry buddies to keep them grounded and happy!
