The furry friends of the Paddock

Article by Finley Ever

From dogs, cats, and even cows, when our F1 drivers aren’t racing around circuits across the world, they have a numerous number of pets to keep them company as well as occupied. Let’s take a look at a few of the most iconic pets of the paddock.

Alex Albon

Thai driver Alex Albon is well known for boasting the largest number of pets of any F1 driver by far. Along with his family, the number of animals acquired by the Albon’s became so many that it’s now referred to as the Albon Zoo!

His Pets

Frooky (Formerly known as Prada or Pea) – Light Grey Persian Cat

Moomoo- Persian Cat

Gucci (Moomoo’s twin)- Persian Cat

Stan (Alex’s favorite) – Tabby Cat

Duckie & Goosie (Twins) – Domestic Shorthairs

Sasha- Maine Coon

The Safari kittens! Blue Bear, Gigi Giraffe, Hippo, and Tiger

Along with many many MANY other cats! These are just the most noticeable!

Tinky – Retired show horse

Snow White – Welsh Pony

Otter- Border Collie

Bambam- While not an official Albon pet, the deer frequently visits the farm, making him a honorary member of the Albon Zoo!

Lewis Hamilton

7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton is most famously known for his love of English Bulldogs, having adopted two since his career start in F1. Unfortunately, both dogs have passed away. While sad, it has also given Lewis time to venture into a new species, Longhorn Bulls.

His pets

Roscoe- English Bulldog

Lewis got Roscoe the same year he joined Mercedes, 2013. Roscoe quickly became a celebrity animal in the Paddock. He passed away in October of 2025, living with Lewis for 12 years.

Coco- English Bulldog

Coco was bought from the same breeder as Roscoe in 2013. She passed away at the age of six in 2020.

Max – Longhorn Bull

Max the Longhorn Bull was bought by Lewis in 2025. He lives on Lewis’ Colorado Ranch with his fellow bull, Ombre. While ironically holding the same name as Lewis’ past F1 rival, Max Verstappen, Lewis swears that the bull was already named when he got him!

Ombre- Longhorn Bull

Bought along with Max in 2025. Lives on Lewis’ Colorado Ranch.

Charles leclerc

Nothing else needs to be said when it comes to Charles’ portion of this article! If you know the Monegasque, you’ll know his absolutely adorable miniature long-haired dachshund, Leo Leclerc.

Leo Leclerc was gifted to Charles by a friend in April of 2024, and the golden weenie dog quickly became recognized across the world.

Appearing at almost all Formula 1 events as well as being a part of Charles and Alexandra’s wedding, Leo perfectly rounds out the beautiful Leclerc family.

Charles and Alexandra are quite affectionate towards their fur baby, frequently making nods to Leo in their business and leisure adventures. In a recent collaboration with Frame, Alexandra Leclerc designed a pair of jeans, which she aptly named ‘The Leo’, and while golfing in Miami, a small version of Leo was found drawn onto Charles’ white shoes! Can you blame them? Just look at him!

For Charles and Alex’s beautiful Civil Wedding in Monaco, Leo wore a tiny tux and had his own figurine on the wedding cake, making it just as much his special day as his parents.

While always posted to both his mom and dad’s social media, Leo has amassed his own number of fans, many of which have their own fan accounts for him! Imagine being a four-legged creature and having the cult following that he does!

Pets make up a huge part of many people’s lives, and F1 drivers are no different! A second installment with icons such as Simba and Basil will be coming your way soon!
