An interview with Gigi.On.Track

Article by Finley Ever

Motorsports content creators have taken the internet by storm. From informative videos on drivers and the engineering of the cars to hilarious videos made for reposting, the online Formula One community is ever growing. A friend of mine, Gigi, is an example of this. But I don’t need to tell you when she can tell you herself!

Finley: To start us off would you please introduce yourself?

Gigi: Hey divas, it’s Gigi, a motorsports content creator from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I live for race weekends, chaotic pit lanes, and the adrenaline of the F1 lights going out. From the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix to cheering on driver like George Russell, I’m here for the speed, passion, and the unforgettable moments.

Finley: When and how did you get into Motorsports?

Gigi: I got into Motorsports around 2022. But when I first heard about it, it was in 2014 when my grandfather was watching Silverstone on the TV and was cheering for Ferrari. As a young kid, I was very confused as to why my grandfather was supporting men driving in circles, but he told me that once I got older I would understand. So, growing up I heard about drivers like Lewis Hamilton and how he was the greatest champion of all time and how Max Verstappen was going to be the new king of F1. And then, in 2022, when I was at my first Formula One event, I got to see the fans supportive of their teams, the electric vibes, the energy, and how amazing the community is as well as so many more incredible moments, and I was amazed.

Finley: What made you want to start Motorsports content creation?

Gigi: It honestly started with my love for Formula 1. The speed, the strategy, the emotions, and the way a race like Saudi Arabia can make you feel so alive. But for a long time, I was scared, scared of being judged, especially of how it would be perceived being a girl in the Arab world putting herself out there in Motorsports media. But at some point, I realized my passion was bigger than my fear. I didn’t want to stay silent just because I was worried about what others might think, so I chose to create anyways.

Finley: If you could go back to the Gigi that was just starting content creation, what would you tell her?

Gigi: I would tell her to never be afraid, keep posting, and never listen to the negativity. you have an amazing group of friends that will support you through your entire Motorsports career. You’re going to be given the opportunity of a lifetime when you’re in Bahrain for Pre-Season Testing in 2026. Spread kindness and positivity through your channel. Never be negative towards yourself or on your platform. Always be there to help others if they want to start their content pages or if they just need help when it comes to F1. Always keep smiling and have the best time!

Finley: You do a lot with Formula E, a lower class of Motorsport. What exactly is it that you do and how did you achieve that role?

Gigi: I work in media and content creation around Formula E. Covering race weekends, creating behind-the-scenes content, and sharing stories from the Paddock that fans don’t always see on broadcast. I got here by consistently creating motorsport content around F1, building my portfolio, networking at events, and showing up even when it felt intimidating.

Finley: You are known online for being an avid supporter of Mercedes, more specifically George Russell. Has he always been your favorite driver and what about him made you a fan?

Gigi: Yes, George Russell has been my favorite driver since 2022. he was the very first driver I ever supported in F1, and he’s still my favorite to this day. I was drawn to him because of his personality, professionalism, and the determination he shows, not just on track, but with his team and within himself. He never gives up, no matter the pressure. I will never forget 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, his first ever win. Before that weekend, so many people doubted him and said he would never win a race. He proved everyone wrong by winning the Sprint Race and then the Grand prix itself. That moment meant so much to me because it showed that hard work, resilience, and belief in yourself really does pay off.

Finley: How do you feel about Lando Norris’ WDC win last December?

Gigi: As Lando is one of my top favorite drivers, I was genuinely the happiest person ever when he won. I’ve been supporting him since 2023, so watching his journey from being doubted to becoming World Champion felt so personal. Seeing his growth, maturity, and consistency finally pay off was such a full circle moment for me. It wasn’t just a title, it felt like watching someone you believe in prove the world wrong.

Finley: How likely do you feel that George Russell could secure a championship this year?

Gigi: I honestly think George has a real chance this year. He’s been incredibly consistent, and if the car is competitive, he definitely has the talent and mindset to fight for a championship. It will be tough because the field is very strong, but he’s absolutely capable of doing it. If he wins it this year, I will not only cry on the floor but I also won’t stop bragging about it for the next 100 years.

Finley: Finally, what is your all-time favorite F1 meme?

Gigi: I have two all-time favorite memes, which are any of George Russell’s diva moments or, of course, Lando’s hornet survival meme. These two memes have never stopped making me laugh or smile and both of them actually got me an A+ on my theater exam!

Finley: Wonderful! Thank you so much for your time!

Gigi: Of course! Thank you for giving me this opportunity and hopefully you’ll get to interview Lando soon!

Finley: You’re welcome! And yes, hopefully soon!

Gigi: Praying on that.

Gigi is actively making Motorsports content on Instagram and TikTok. She also has an upcoming Podcast on YouTube! If you’re interested in all things F1 and just a tad extra Mercedes and George Russell content, I encourage you to give her a follow.
