interview with Gavven Scalise: Formula 4 prospect

Article and Interview conducted by Finley Ever

Drivers are constantly making a new appearance in F1, such as WDC leader Kimi Antonelli last year, and Arvid Lindblad this year. Very rarely do fans know much of the rookies before they enter F1, so it’s important to follow the up-and-coming talent farther down the rankings, because who knows who you will be seeing as a F1 rookie in the coming years. That’s why I decided to talk to Gavven Scalise, who’s actively working towards a seat in Formula 4.

the interview

Finley: Would please introduce yourself and tell me what exactly it is you do in Motorsport?

Gavven: Hi, and yes, my name is Gavven Scalise. I’ve been racing for about one year now. I started on the simulator, but then I got really quick, so I made the transition into Karting, and I’m now working towards a British Formula 4 racing season in 2027, and I’m looking forward to start racing with SpeedSense Motorsports.

Finley: Who influenced you to join the world of Karting?

Gavven: The person that influenced me to join Karting was Enzo Deligny. I was supposed to do Karting with him when I was younger, but I couldn’t get the funds together at the time, but now I’m here working towards my goal day by day.

Finley: What is your ultimate goal in this sport?

Gavven: My ultimate goal is definitely Rookie F1 World Champion. I would say this is a huge goal, but it’s unlike the others. Drivers can always beat the record of World Champion titles, but a record they can’t forget will be the Rookie World Champion title.

Finley: Who are your inspirations?

Gavven: My biggest inspiration has been my dad. He has always taught me not to give up and how to be strong mentally. Aryton Senna is a big inspiration as well, mainly because he was a Christian. He would always talk about how God brought him there, or how God was always with him.

Finley: And lastly, if you could tell the slightly younger version of yourself that was first starting to Kart anything, what would you say?

Gavven: I would definitely say don’t stop trying, and always look up to God if you ever need help, and keep going because it will always work out.

Thank you so much for your time Gavven. Stay consistent and I can’t wait to see your rookie year in F4!
