The japanese grand prix

Hello everyone! This past weekend our favorite sport held a race in Singapore, Japan. All in all, the race was pretty uneventful. The top three in qualifying were also the top three for the race, but there was definitely some action! Let me catch you up!

Max Verstappen has officially made a comeback! The Dutch Red Bull driver won the Japanese Grand Prix with both McLaren cars on his tail. Unfortunately, his new teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, didn’t do so well. In his debut home race, Tsunoda finished outside the points. Lando Norris came in second after being milliseconds within DRS to overtake Verstappen, but he just couldn’t make the 1 second gap. Lando’s teammate Oscar Piastri finishes our Japanese podium. Oscar told his engineers over the intercom while driving that he felt he could pass Verstappen, but Lando would have to give up his position in order for this to happen. Lando, obviously wanting second instead of third, did not give up his position, so Piastri was forced to accept position 3. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc finished P4, with Brit George Russell following in fifth. Russell’s teammate Kimi Antonelli secured P6, but while P6 is quite amazing for the rookie, when people look back on the race they won’t see this outstanding position but they will see that Antonelli became the youngest driver to ever lead a race and the youngest driver to be awarded fastest lap! Many drivers boxed on the same lap, but Kimi did not, so he automatically flew to the front of the race! Even though some may consider this luck, we have to admire that Kimi kept the 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton in his dirty air! Unfortunately, cars have to change their tires at some point, so when Kimi had to box, he lost his precious position, but just the fact that he was able to lead the race for so long really shows what we can expect from him in the future! I believe he will absolutely dominate the industry once he gains more experience. Staying behind the Italian, Sir Lewis Hamilton found himself in P7. More rookies in the top ten!! Isack Hadjar takes home 8th place! Williams driver Alex Albon P9, and yet another rookie, Oliver Bearman, completes our top ten. For being a pretty mild race, there was some crashing! Both Max Verstappen and Lando Norris found themselves coming out of the pit lane at the same time. Max Verstappen took up majority of the lane, causing Lando to be driven off the track and into the grass! Thankfully, the grass didn’t catch on fire, because in qualifying there was multiple reports of the grass lining the track catching on fire because of how hot it was! Jack Doohan absolutely totaled his car in practice 2. It was a major crash, considering that he crashed into the wall going 50G’s, which in case you didn’t know, is 50 times greater than the force of gravity! Yet the Aussie was able to walk away from the crash, what a miracle!! He still was able to participate in the race even though his car seemed beyond repair!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read!! I’ll catch you in Bahrain!!
