breaking news: red bull to drop lawson and take on tsunoda

After Red Bull driver Liam Lawson underdelivered at the Chinese Grand Prix, it was rumored that Red Bull would give his seat to a different driver, preferably to Racing Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda, but the rumor is unfortunately now a reality for the Kiwi. Liam Lawson has been under pressure this season by his team, which are world champions. In the Australian Grand Prix, Liam crashed his car and wasn’t able to cross the finish line. In the Chinese Grand Prix, Liam started in last place and finished outside of the points, maybe this would slide for a team that isn’t as successful as Red Bull, but when your teammate is the one and only Max Verstappen, you have to step up your game. Lawson just wasn’t able to find a steady rhythm in his Red Bull car. After losing to McLaren in the 2024 Constructors Championship, Red Bull can’t afford to have only one driver scoring points, so Lawson has got to go. And who better to take his place than his ex Racing Bull teammate? Yuki Tsunoda is being promoted to a Red Bull driver for the rest of the 2025 season right before his home race in Japan. Wouldn’t it be so cool if he won the Japanese Grand Prix in his debut as a Red Bull racer? We can only hope. Unfortunately for Liam, he will be sent back to Red Bull’s junior team to take Tsunoda’s place. Maybe with less pressure weighing down on him, he can turn it around and start doing better, and hopefully one day we can see him properly advance to the senior team.
